This is an account of watching my daughter, Akanksha ( Born August 1999) grow from an innocent tot to an enlightened "miss". I have learnt about children, little girls, imagination, pets, fears, happiness, matters related to the heart and life at large from her.
If you tumble upon this blog, I hope your visit is a pleasant one:-)

Rough treasures!Click to hide.

Its that time of the year again. Clearing school books from the year that was.

I seem to have become like my mother. She could not wait for us to complete exams to get started on clearing our school books! She was an ace at clearing stuff. No sooner were we done at a subject at school, she made sure all the used notes in the subject would find their way to the 'old newspaper' shelf.

When clearing out books I found one of Akank's rough note books that had a few treasures that I wanted saved for posterity. What better way than blog about it!

First, I found some pictures that caught my attention.

The first was a series of uniform, colourful rectangular bottles with black caps and prize tags ranging from Rs.30 to Rs. 500. They looked like nail polish bottles. The most expensive colour was blue- Akanks favourite colour.

Then there were four boxes with pretty jewelry drawn on another page. Necklaces with matching ear rings and prize tags again. Ranging from Rs.3000 to Rs. 9000.

Then came my favourite. The page with many pairs of coloured eyes and prize tags. The page head read - "HipNotEyes" :-)

Then there were drawings of two pages of identical twins at different ages. It read - " Kate and Kassi are twins" . There was a series of drawings of two heads with ' blonde' hair of different lengths. Above each pair was written at what age the twins looked that way. The final picture showed Kate and Kassi at 36. Alongside the 'women" heads there were two "men" heads and hearts drawn between the heads!

And then came the best of surprises. Akank's first ever attempt at song composition.  The title said " Alone"
And the words read -

I was all alone, Before you came home
I used to roam under the moon and sun
It used to be fun, When you were around
But then I didn't hear a sound
It felt like I had you bound

When you were not around...

I was b-l-o-w-n away! She had told me that she was writing it and even had hummed the tune one evening. She is so impacted with Mylie Cyrus and wants to be a rock star someday.

Goodluck baby! With these attempts at song composing you are sure on your way!

You must be careful before publishing such nuggets on public blogs like this.

Who knows, you just stole her thunder, and a million dollars from her first ever debut platinum!!
